I'm having a blast with the Instagram challenges this weekend! What a fun idea and something that I have not incorporated into the classroom or training at all. I'm getting all sorts of ideas for our upcoming new career advisor training. We usually do a campus scavenger hunt and ask for groups to make a power point, but using an Instagram # would be so much better, IMO.
Anyway, I'm halfway through the Social Media Challenge and Long Hot Weekend Challenge and have found that the social media option has been the more difficult of the two. I have found that many businesses use social media but may not fully leverage social media or advertise it in the right places. It took several books to finally find a book with social media contact info for the authors. It wasn't until I pursued recent publications (2019 and newer) that I started to see social media listed for authors! I suppose that make sense as social media has grown over the past two decades.
The tweets incorporated into a news story was how I found out the FSU women's softball team is going to the World Series -- YAY ⚾ but wow, weird that I found out on Twitter.
I am still searching for the hashtag appearing on TV and have gone through a dilemma in my head as to whether IGTV counts as TV and perhaps making my own IGTV video and including a hashtag. Maybe I am taking this competition too far though if I do that. I have a few more gems to find for the social media challenge and a few more to go for the long hot weekend challenge.
It took me a minute to work through bonus #2 because I completely forget my username/password to TikTok. You know how you can connect accounts? I guess when initially signing up for TikTok, I used my Instgram account and then couldn't remember my Instagram account because I think my account was registered through Pinterest or Facebook. What in the world! Why do sites give this option? I'm not entirely sure how or why the accounts are connected aside from using your activity for ads. Does anyone know? Guess it's time to make a social media site username and password list that I have for all of my "grown up" accounts.
